Back Country Safety From The Utah Avalanche Center

What is your snow safety knowledge?  Before you head out on that backcountry trip, take a snow safety course and/or avalanche preparedness course  If you have taken courses before, please practice and refresh your skills this season.

Most avalanche fatalities happen to people unaware of the avalanche risk they face. The mission of the Utah Avalanche Center (UAC), a non-profit ally of Outdoor Research, is to give winter backcountry travelers the tools they need to stay alive and have fun in avalanche terrain.
